God's Wonderful Love

 On The Move

4 So Abram went out as the Lord had commanded him, and Lot went with him: Abram was seventy-five years old when he went forth from Haran. 5 And he took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all the substance which they had gathered, and the souls which they had gotten in Haran: and they went out to go into the land of Chanaan. And when they were come into it,

6 Abram passed through the country into the place of Sichem, as far as the noble vale: now the Chanaanite was at that time in the land. 7 And the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him: To thy seed will I give this land. And he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 And passing on from thence to a mountain, that was on the east side of Bethel, he there pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east; he built there also an altar to the Lord, and called upon his name. 9 And Abram went forward, going, and proceeding on to the south. 10 And there came a famine in the country; and Abram went down into Egypt, to sojourn there: for the famine was very grievous in the land.

11 And when he was near to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife: I know that thou art a beautiful woman: 12 And that when the Egyptians shall see thee, they will say: She is his wife: and they will kill me, and keep thee. 13 Say, therefore, I pray thee, that thou art my sister: that I may be well used for thee, and that my soul may live for thy sake.

Genesis 12:4-13

It was time to pack up an move on for Abram. We are all called at some point in our lives to pack up and go where we are often uncertain of the territory. Not always by the command of God, but by others. It could be anyone for that matter. In a way we do this as a way of direction. In the spiritual life it's our heart that we often need to pack up the extra luggage that we carry around. We tote it everywhere. God calls us to clean out and move the junk that is cluttering our homes. Not the physical home but the interior home of our hearts. How are we able to move around and give him glory with so much burdening us. Will we be able to set up an altar of purified love for him. Many times we hide the beauty of our love for God, fearful others will steal it away. Why do we fear showing our love for God in the first place. That's what turns us into beautiful radiant flowers in God's garden.

 One Wish

26 And Thare lived seventy years, and begot Abram, and Nachor, and Aran. 27 And these are the generations of Thare: Thare begot Abram, Nachor, and Aran. And Aran begot Lot. 28 And Aran died before Thare his father, in the land of his nativity in Ur of the Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nachor married wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai: and the name of Nachor's wife, Melcha, the daughter of Aran, father of Melcha, and father of Jescha. 30 And Sarai was barren, and had no children.
31 And Thare took Abram, his son, and Lot the son of Aran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, the wife of Abram his son, and brought them out of Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Chanaan: and they came as far as Haran, and dwelt there. 32 And the days of Thare were two hundred and five years, and he died in Haran.
1 And the Lord said to Abram: Go forth out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and out of thy father's house, and come into the land which I shall show thee. 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and magnify thy name, and thou shalt be blessed. 3 I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee, and IN THEE shall all the kindred of the earth be blessed:
Genesis 11:26-32,12:1-3

No matter how old we are, we commit some form of sin, that latter on in life we realize we wished we never did. But it's not so much as sin as it is in the way of thinking about blessing and cursing another. When we are not in sync with God and life rules our beings, we have a tendency to curse others in our jealousies and hatreds. We don't always bless our enemies, not unless they sneeze. But as we realize in our own lives how much we have placed God far away even though we pray, we still curse and bless in a strange way. Supposing out of our whole life we have cursed others and years later we are reminded of it, the conscience does great things for us by-the-way, what is the one thing we wished we would not have done? Cursed another is one, sin is another and go from there. If we had one wish in this entire life what would it be? Would it perhaps be to bless those who we have cursed instead. Blessing them rather than cursing them. Imagine if that one wish were granted and healing came upon all those who live. Now wouldn't that be how all who inhabit the earth be blessed. Pray that this one sacrifice will be heard, to offer up our curses so they will become blessings instead.

 Same-o

14 Sale also lived thirty years, and begot Heber. 15 And Sale lived after he begot Heber, four hundred and three years; and begot sons and daughters.

16 And Heber lived thirty-four years, and begot Phaleg. 17 And Heber lived after he begot Phaleg, four hundred and thirty years: and begot sons and daughters. 18 Phaleg also lived thirty years, and begot Reu. 19 And Phaleg lived after he begot Reu, two hundred and nine years, and begot sons and daughters. 20 And Reu lived thirty-two years, and begot Sarug.

21 And Reu lived after he begot Sarug, two hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters. 22 And Sarug lived thirty years, and begot Nachor. 23 And Sarug lived after he begot Nachor, two hundred years: and begot sons and daughters. 24 And Nachor lived nine and twenty years, and begot Thare. 25 And Nachor lived after he begot Thare, a hundred and nineteen years: and begot sons and daughters.

Genesis 11:14-25

Okay, so we have more of lineage being related to us. Their life scan is getting lower in numbers now. Ever wonder why that is, even though God stated he would shorten the life span prior to this. First off, in the beginning if they lived the life span we live now, nothing would have been accomplished with so few people. Even reflecting upon this, their way of life was simple also. But many will argue about their simple life, thinking it was back breaking with the physical work they had to do. Their life was hard, probably not as hard as we think. We think in terms of how we live now without placing ourselves in their shoes to understand their way of life. Our life is cluttered, theirs wasn't. They were the early flowers that were blooming. We are the result of that continuation. Without these people we read about we wouldn't be here. Our life is a product of their seed. The lily of the valley is a single small flower plant with an abundant fragrance with several flowers on one stem. Our families are similar when we are in unity with God. We are fragrant in faith, we produce and the line continues to grow. Each stalk is symbolic of the family members, occassionaly we see a flower die but the rest survive time. Reading of family lines may be boring to some but for others it gives us a glimpse of our roots. We all have different families but the origin is still the same. We all have come from the beginning.

 Tower of Babel

4 And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven: and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of Adam were building.

6 And he said: Behold, it is one people, and all have one tongue: and they have begun to do this, neither will they leave off from their designs, till they accomplish them in deed. 7 Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city. 9 And therefore the name thereof was called Babel, because there the language of the whole earth was confounded: and from thence the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of all countries. 10 These are the generations of Sem: Sem was a hundred years old when he begot Arphaxad, two years after the flood.

11 And Sem lived after he begot Arphaxad, five hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. 12 And Arphaxad lived thirty-five years, and begot Sale. 13 And Arphaxad lived after he begot Sale, three hundred and three years; and begot sons and daughters.

Genesis 11:3-13

We began in one voice but God changed and they were scattered throughout the world. A world as we now know it with many languages, each vying to be the one language of a land. Talk about confusion, when no one understands what the other is saying. That put a crimp in things for awhile. Remember at the beginning of chapter 6 it is stated that their ages would become less as well. We must realize it didn't happen all at once but as time progressed. By the time we have reached this growth and change it has been most likely a few thousand years already. We have read of their ages when they passed away. Some close to a thousand years old and look how many family have already been born since Adam. Thousands and thousands of years have gone by. It can very easily be a few hundred thousand years. But their desires to make their name famous brought about a scattering and a major change. We do this too don't we when we do our own thing and create our own towers of Babel, our understanding becomes less as we place ourselves away from the unity we once had with God. The age we live in we have seen what the changes and what it has done. Are we doing the same as they did when they built the tower of Babel. Are we bringing about something far worse upon us for what we are creating in our world.

 Making Bricks

26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare, 27 And Aduram, and Uzal, and Decla, 28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba, 29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Jectan. 30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.

31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations. 32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood
1 And the earth was of one tongue, and of the same speech. 2 And when they removed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Sennaar, and dwelt in it. 3 And each one said to his neighbour: Come, let us make brick, and bake them with fire. And they had brick instead of stones, and slime instead of mortar
.
Genesis 10:26-32, 11:1-3

Kids have toys that teach them many things that imitate life. Some are building sets, leggo comes to mind in this regard, tool sets, kitchen sets you name it and the kids have something to play with that mimick an area that creates. Just looking back in time in the Bible and we learn a few things about how they survived and how they built. They have come a long way since Adam and since the flood. They didn't have circular saws to make nice wood planks or all the gadgets we have that make building easy. Everything had to come from their hard work and their united part in doing it together, they were truly united in how they did things. It's amazing these days how we build and tear down and claim lack of communication when we fail to understand each other. Why didn't this get built right or why hasn't this been done. Often our responses are no one communicated it. Listen for one part is an area, but we come to another area where we have so much on our thoughts about so many things that we think we have relayed it as well. Either way the communication can often be lost because we have lost the ability to function in unity as they did in Noahs time. They relied on each other as a unit, that's something that has throughout the ages slowly dwindled when we became independent from others. We don't worship in unisome either. Oh we do worship God, but we choose to do it our way and often not God's way. We build but do we keep the building from collapsing by maintaining God's Will in it all.
