God's Wonderful Love

Your Name is it Being Called

But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice,
as he calls his own sheep by name
. John 10:2-3

For me, part of hearing God's call is hearing him call me by name. Through the years, on and off I have interiorly heard my name called. Talk about looking foolish, I would ask the people I'm near, what, did you need something. The looks I got now that I think about it are funny. At the time it wasn't. It was in those times I questioned my own sanity. But the beauty of it came together. It took me some time to realize I was being called by name. This pretty much happened most of my life, but not until recently in the past few years has it become more so. Was I closed off to God's calling my name, yes because I was afraid.

Now the question is have any heard their name being called, and shoved it aside as to think it may be a psychic thing. It's not a psychic thing, nor will it ever be. If a person is on mind bending drugs then no question about the source. It takes discernment in a huge way to understand. That and piecing a huge puzzle together to see the whole picture or parts of it to understand that it is divine in nature.

Then the next thing is to respond to his calling you by name, and not put it off.

 The Good Shepherd

He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.”
Acts 4:11-12

Little did Peter know how true his words have become. Jesus is the cornerstone to our faith. Yet Peter is the cornerstone of our Church, through him it has been built up by his proclamation of Jesus' saving grace. Through Jesus we have our faith, faith of our church. This is our faith and we are to proclaim it too. Just as Peter was given the task of following through with God's plan, so are we.

It is exactly through Jesus we will find salvation, as Peter proclaimed it is not through anyone else, nor will there ever be either. So if we all prefer following the devil, guaranteed our life will not be eternal. I suppose then, we do not want eternal life or salvation then, we all seem to want and need the darkness too much.

Do we wonder how many wolves have scattered the flock of Jesus? Many I would say. Look how divided we all are. How many religions have popped-up, all because they wanted it their way and not God's way. There are those who could not agree, so off to start their own, under their own rules. If we don't like what Jesus says to us, off we go in search of someone or something that will agree with us. Jesus stands by us no matter what we do. He is the Good Shepherd, he will search and find each of us, that have left his side. I'm personally glad that he cared enough about me to bring me to his side. He did it for me, he will do it for you. He wants us with him, not against him. Let him come into your heart and bring you back home too. You'll never regret it.

Remember it is Jesus'saving faith that is the cornerstone.

 Spirit and Life

What if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.
The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and life.
But there are some of you who do not believe.
John 6:62-64

No truer words have ever been spoken than the one's Jesus spoke. Because many do not believe, and many have left Him. Just as those who followed him during the time this was being said, did. Those who believed in him as the Son of God stayed on to bring us what we have today. How sad it is to say we believe but do not. How sad it is to be a disciple and walk away, yet continue as if we believe. It is when we profess love of God and walk with Jesus and do abominable acts that we no longer believe in what we believed. We have no life unless it is lived with the Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus, the Spirit of God. It is with certainty, the belief and faith in the Son of God is where we will have life. Just as God knows what is in each of our hearts. Some accept his call, but then leave. Some follow and leave. Do any truly stay and follow all the way to eternal life?

 Transformation

He said, "Who are you, sir?"
The reply came  "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
Now get up and go into the city and you will be told what you must do."
The men who were traveling with him stood speechless,
for they heard the voice but could see no one.
Acts 9:5-7

My God, you couldn't have done it any better than this. To speak to Saul in front of a few witnesses, where none of them could see you. Just this bright blinding light that only affected Saul. Yet the others who were with Saul heard your voice too. The extent you go to bring your lost sheep back to you.

Saul now named Paul, is a key witness of transformation, as are those who witnessed his change. We have the apostles who underwent their own transformation, while Jesus was with them. Now we have one of the first accounts of a witnessed one.

Today in our day, should this account happen, would we realize the Divine? We are reading of an actual account of the Divine. Just as we are given many accounts of Jesus being seen after His death.

For us we are lucky to have the written accounts, even better is to have the living flesh and blood, transformed by Jesus himself via the hands of his chosen priests handed down from generation to generation. Where Jesus let us know by his death that he would be with us in the very Bread of Life. He who believes in me will have eternal life. It is in this very belief of the Eucharist, that Jesus is within, that we find this eternal life.

 Let Us Be Taught

It is written in the prophets: They shall all be taught by God. Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. John 6:45

When we listen to God and learn from him we go to Jesus. The prophets are right about this. We listen to God's commandments, we listen to his Word. It brings us to Jesus in the Eucharist the living Bread. We have been given God's guidance in the Old and revealed to us the new in the Risen Son. We have Jesus always in our midst, and when we open ourselves to listen we will realize this.

It is remarkable that once we listen to God how easy it is to come to Jesus in the Eucharist. To experience union, and given love in return.
