God's Wonderful Love

 She Has Seen

Mary went and announced to the disciples,
“I have seen the Lord,”
and then reported what he had told her. John 20:18

Mary finally let go to do Jesus' bidding. She went and told what she has seen and heard. That alone took a great amount of faith.

It's not easy running to the apostles to tell them what she had seen, and what he had told her to tell them. Today we read of what she did for his love. If that were us today and Jesus appeared to tell us to go to the apostles, to tell them what he said. We would  be backed away from. Thought of as someone who was  a few clowns short of a circus.

Imagine the Saints who have claimed the same thing as Mary Magdala has. How they went through so much grief, because they were surrounded by jealous people, who wanted what was given to them. People react differently to people. Jesus treats all equally.

So if Jesus should appear to us today in whatever manner he chooses, are we going to keep it to ourselves? Are we going to be afraid of what others may think. Are we going to let the negative responses from those who love Jesus and are jealous mar his message. Jealousy is not from God by-the-way.

We have a wonderful example in Mary Magdala doing God's will, and proclaiming the Good News. Are we able to do the Father's will and proclaim to the world He is Risen. That he dwells among us. Let our eyes see and our ears hear as Mary Magdala has.

 An Encounter

And behold, Jesus met them on their way and greeted them. Matthew 28:9

Imagine coming from an empty tomb and being told he is not there. To go back home and encounter the very one on the way, Who we just had gone to go to, in order to prepare his body. I most definitely would do the same as the women who met him. Kneel at his feet and hug the daylights out of him. Such happiness seeing him alive after he told us he would rise after death. To actually witness this, wow! Should I have been fearful, then it would have been my doubts that caused this. Just as the women were fearful. When they witnessed the torture Jesus underwent, it is only logical that they would doubt. It is with a great faith in the Divine to understand the truth of Jesus coming to life. They had this too. Can we have this great faith in our world. It is a hope.

 Alleluia, He is Risen

He said to them, "Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him. Mark 16:6

Alleluia, Our Lord is Risen, rejoice and be glad. How lucky for us that the angels were there to reveal to the women that he is not there. Such testimony from those who love Jesus. They went to prepare him as was the custom, but being it the Sabbath they could not. So finally when it was time, they encountered a messenger instead. They were shocked, fearful. That's understandable. I think we would be too. I would be in awe, it's not everyday we witness a powerful moment. Yet these woman have.

Dear God you raised up your Son for our belief. He has been bathed in Divine light, a radiance so brilliant. He has fulfilled a prophecy of old. In Jesus' ressurrection we are reborn in his light, his saving grace.

Heavenly Father, we lost your Son, because of our sins. You have raised Him up to reveal Your Divine Love. May we, who live today, come to know the Radiance of Your love.

 Holy Saturday

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. Romans 6:5

Do we know people who have love that endures, that when one passes from this life the other follows soon after. In some instances they are united to the point of death. So it also in life, when they are united, their life with each other is a joy. Nothing is too small for these couples to accomplish when it is done in love. Some even write of their love, how they would die for the other, how they would do anything for them. It's beautiful when people love each other like this.

When we love like this we have the capacity to love God just as deeply. When we love God this way, we die of ourselves, of our selfishness. It is then that all we do is for the one we love. That is why Jesus emptied himself on the cross, his love for God and us was that great. This is not only his resurrection but ours too.

It is the same when we are united with God, we are with him in a death like his, but most assuredly we will be united with him in a ressurection like his.
