God's Wonderful Love

Prayer of Jeremiah
You know, O Lord, that man is not master of his way; Man' course is not within his choice, nor is it for him to direct his step. Punish us, O Lord, but with equity, not in anger, lest you have us dwindle away. Pour out your wrath on the nations that know you not, on the tribes that call not upon your name; For they have devoured Jacob utterly, and laid waste his dwelling. Jeremiah 10:23-25 Today it seems my mind feels as if it has been laid waste. Ever have one of those days when nothing seems to come to mind. Those days happen when we let too many things invade our thoughts, and not let God be the main focus of our time. Yet, the first thought is of Him. So somewhere in the back of my mind I must have many small invasions that take away from God's purpose. These can be called many small worries. I strive to hand them over with the utmost care to Him. So today I asked God to direct my path to guide my way, I was rewarded with this prayer of Jeremiah. It was His way of saying that my path is not my own, but is from God who guides me. I accept this, as I accept his call, I have answered, and so has He.

for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more Jeremiah 31-34
If God didn't forgive us we would not be in existence. It seems that everything he has done throughout the ages, is to help us come to him with our own wills. Where we can joyfully give our wills to him. His constant forgiveness for our petty and sometimes rotten ways, should bring us back to him faster than we have been getting to him. We should be all running back to God, but it seems more than anything that evildoing is what we prefer. Just like we are amongst each other, we hurt those we love, so it is with God. Why do we hurt each other and God too? Are we looking for more than forgiveness?

But, you, O Lord of hosts, O just judge, searcher of mind and heart, let me witness the vengeance you take on them, for to you I have entrusted my cause! Jeremiah 12:20
His faith was that strong,Jeremiah knew and trusted God, that he would be delivered from those who plotted against him.
Jesus also knew of those who plotted against him, to rid the world of his goodness. But Jesus did not seek to witness the vengeance of those who sought his death, rather he forgave them, so his cause would be made known to all. That of love and forgiveness, which God entrusted to his only Son for our salvation. God is a God of Love, not a God of vengeance. That is why Jesus was sent to us to correct us on the ways of God, on the very fact it is his love Jesus calls us to. The two most important commandements are what Jesus stressed, the ones of love for God and love for neighbor as you love yourself.

Let us beset the just one, because he is obnoxious to us; he sets himself against our doings, reproaches us for transgressions of the law and charges us with violations of our training. Wisdom 2:12
This seems to be what we do to Jesus and his disciples, beset them. Do we find then the disciples of Christ today just as obnoxious, for their teaching of God's word. Is that why many of our Churches today are closing. We don't like what the disciples have to say, to remind us of how we are to live a life in Christ. We shuffle ourselves around looking for one who will agree with our ways, but the ways we are to follow and agree with are the ways of God. So next time you come across an obnoxious disciple of Christ remember they are the one's who received God's call and responded. They teach us God's ways and God's word, they act in Jesus' stead, reproaching us for our transgressions. If they are not the one's to do so, who then shall teach us about the love God has for us and the way we are to live. Without these, we would be a lawless people, aimless, loveless, dead.

For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words? John 5:46-47
Jesus said a mouthful, if we do not believe in Moses' writings, such as the commandments, and his writings, how then are we to believe in his words also. So true, a statement Jesus made. If we think about it, what is written, and the commandments that God has given through Moses, to prepare us, to guide us. Yet through those years much has happened, so that when Jesus finally comes, they see his many works yet they still do not believe. Should Jesus come to us today, would we be any different? We just about threw away the commandments, in favor of our own wills. Would we treat him any different than the one's he already tried to convert. Would we accept his word as the word of God. Do any of us sit and think about what it would be like to have Jesus in our midst, to hear him talk, to know that his word is truth. How we forget that he is here with us, in our Tabernacles waiting for us to listen to his most precious word. Are we capable of believing! Or do we continue to persecute and condemn him, as they did so long ago.
