God's Wonderful Love

 Wednesday, Fourth Week of Lent

Can a mother forget her infant...
Even should she forget,
I will never forget you. Isaiah 49:15

God never forgets us, that's why he sent us his son. To show us he is with us always. Even though we have come this far since Jesus' time, and forgot him, he STILL is with us. I find it comforting to know that he is with us, and he never forgets us. It is in our own foolish thinking, that we think he forgets us, because we aren't receiving what we ask for. When he often prepares us for something far different, and more meaningful. Just as a mother knows her child, from the beginning until the end, she knows. So it is with God.

 Tuesday, Fourth Week of Lent

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

In times of trouble we often go to the one's we depend upon, the one's we trust with our very lives. As children we go to our parents when we hurt, as adults it is our spouse, or  our best friends. Either way there is someone we go to for guidance, to help with our hurts and troubles. Many of us, in times of trouble also go to the Lord for his divine help. Which is what he ask of us, to go to him, but all too often we don't continue to seek him in the many areas of our life, or keep him as the focus of our lives. It kind of reminds me of how we use people in our lives. Your my friend, but the only time I see you is when you have a problem. Or we have no time for them, until we need them. It is amazing that we use God the same way. Occasionally we will pray to him, think of him, but guaranteed when we have trouble we run to him, hoping he will answer us.

No matter what God is with us always, he truly is our refuge and strength, even when we tend to forget him. Maybe today we will make it a point to think of him for no particular reason other than to say thank you.

 My Love

How can I describe a soul in communion. It is the fullness it feels, when joy fills it. It is sadness when it feels it's loss. It is tears when it understands deeply. It is a desire to be close when distance is there. It is a constant thirst, that only is quenched when it is filled with a deep abiding love. It is an answer from a call that is felt deep within ones own heart and soul. It is mutual, where it hears and sees. It is profound in every sense, that it is divine in nature. A soul in deep love knows this, this is communion. When we have this then we know love of God in the deepest sense, it is felt, it is known, it is ours.

I will put my trust in God my savior; my God will hear me! Micah 7:7

Today's reflection by Fr. Thomas Connery:

"Sister Susan Sheehan, a Franciscan nun, did heroic work during the siege of Bethlehem. She carried food and supplies by night to those living closest to the Church of the Nativity during the month long "around the clock" curfew. When asked if she worried about her safety, she confidently replied, "I trusted in God and never looked back."

Fear strikes all of us. We fear the nights and the beginning of a new day. We fear death and life. We fear sickness. We fear each other. How do we resolve our fears? First and foremost by trusting God.

Nothing is going to happen to you without God at your side to help you. The Scriptures do not promise that all will go as you plan, but God's plans will be done.

Trust God more and you will fear less.
"

I wanted to share this because it was beautifully put.For me realizing fear in my life had to do with sin, and the fear of God's wrath.I'm not perfect, I continue to stumble, but my hope is always being one with God, where he loves me in spite of my smallness. Where he loves all of us no matter what we have gone through, as long as we trust in him completely.

 Sunday, Fourth Week of Lent

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God--not the result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Such true words, too. Is it possible to save ourselves on our own? Some would say yes, I would say no. Not for the sake of argument, but when we do works for others we do it freely, not for recognition, where it will inflate our over grown egos already. That what we receive, it is by the grace of God.

Many things happen in our life that we are unable to explain until much later it dawns on us the reason. These things happen for us to recall, in order for us to see the divine. But unfortunately, many see it as a fluke, psychic thing, and then pursue that tangent, when they are so far from what the purpose is. Should our faith in those moments be lacking, then it is for us to realize that it is a gift of God, for us to see and know him, through these gifts of grace.
