God's Wonderful Love

 Saturday, Third Week of Lent

Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his appearing is as sure as the dawn; he will come to us like the showers, like the spring rains that water the earth. Hosea 6:3

The more we strive to know about God the more he appears to us in the many circumstances of life. It is in part of tuning ourselves into hearing and seeing what he wills for us. We are being let known that it is a certain thing that he will appear just as the dawn appears every morning. I look forward every day, for his coming, in what ever manner he may choose to reveal to me, to each of us on a daily basis. Through another person, through a Gospel reading, perhaps through the words from a song. Could be from just about anything at all. But with a certainty I will press on to know the Lord better. I think when God sets out to know us, I think we in turn should strive to know him too.

 Friday, Third Week of Lent

I will be like the dew to Israel; he shall blossom like the lily, he shall strike root like the forests of Lebanon. Hosea 14:5

Are we nourishing ourselves from the water of God's graces? Where we grow from the nourishment His word provides. Just as the roots strike deep to be firm, so must our faith be.

When we live in the way that God asks of us, we can't help but grow deeper in faith and love. We blossom, as his word takes root.

 Thursday, Third Week of Lent

Listen to my voice; then I will be your God and you shall be my people. Jeremiah 7:23

If only we would listen, then we would know by the many small acts that God is not only talking to us but showing us to come home to him. He wants us to be his people in every way.

Think about our own children, when they stray from us and opt to follow the path of evil, doesn't it hurt. After all, we thought we did our very best to bring them up. We wonder how come they do not listen to us on bringing them back to faith. Or they choose to live far from us, going somewhere un safe, we offer our wisdom, but it goes unheeded. Well, you can now put yourself in God's place for a moment, and think about this. He asks us to listen, so the next time you would like to see a change in a situation in your child, or family, think on this for a moment. God does the same with us as we do with our own, He wants us safe and not following evil. He is a loving Parent, who wants the very best for us, and as his children, don't you think it is time we LISTEN.

 Wednesday, Third Week of Lent

Take care and be earnestly on your guard not to forget the things which your own eyes have seen. Deuteronomy 4:9

Do not forget the commandments that have been passed on from generation to generation. We are to be earnest in our faith, for we are the ones who teach the children the laws that are being passed on to their children. As time has a way of progressing, we come across many who have lapsed in the passing on of the commandments, but then we have many who disregrd them also. Our eyes are seeing the effects of the dismissal of these commandments. Take heed, be earnest, never forget, these laws, they are for our safekeeping.

 Tuesday, Third Week od Lent

But with contrite heart and humble spirit let us be received. Daniel 3:39

How often are we truly contrite for something we know is wrong? The key is in the knowing it is wrong in the first place, and with knowing this we still go ahead and do it. When we sin, we hurt the one who made us, we hurt ourselves too in the process, and we bring another along with us when we err. It is in the knowing that after committing our sins, it is with a truly humble and contrite heart, that Daniel speaks of, that we are then received. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, is meant to free us of sins, to reconcile us with a loving God. It is so very important to come to this with honesty in our hearts, to humble ourselves, so we may be washed clean.
